Nursery Decoration - Why Try Wall Art

The atmosphere you are trying to create for your baby nursery decor not only involves baby nursery bedding, furniture, and window treatments, it requires major consideration regarding the walls.
Walls tend to get overlooked or "dealt with" as one of the last things needed to complete the nursery.
When the baby bedding and furniture is selected, then it's time to decide upon wall decor.
What is the mood you are trying to portray? Is is fun.
bright and whimsical or will it be soft, calming and serene? Is the mural or wall art designed to fill the entire room or will it be a subtle accent to the baby bedding and furniture? In some cases, I have seen wall art take on a life of it's own where it spans from top to bottom and everywhere around the room.
Other times, a few subtle patterns decorate a portion of one wall or corner in order to highlight the decor.
Sometimes all that is needed is to pull an accent color from the baby bedding and paint the baby's room that solid color.
The following are some considerations when choosing wall art for baby nursery decoration: Accent Art: small stencils, polka dots, small themed removable wall stickers Wall Murals: large or small scale, themed removable stickers, hand-painted mural Painted Walls: accent color or main color pulled from bedding theme When I was pregnant, I painted animal shapes from the bedding and coordinating wall paper border onto the wall.
These animals took up the top half of room, then the wallpaper border acted as a "chair rail" mid-way down the wall.
The lower half of the walls were painted an accent color (sage green) taken from the bedding.
It was a fun project, and absolutely worth the effort when my son would point to and name the animals when he was a toddler.
So many different options are available.
A great solution for creating an interesting atmosphere that is fun, easy and removable are "peel and stick" decorations.
Paint-by-numbers is a great option for those who have more time, patience and that creative spark.
There is no right or wrong answer, and also some comfort in knowing that if something is not to your satisfaction, it can be painted over or removed easily.
