How to Store Hazelnuts
- 1). Place hazelnuts in a clean, closed container. A plastic lidded container or other closed food container is fine. If you have a plastic bag that is thick and water-tight, you can use that instead of another type of container.
- 2). Put the container of hazelnuts in your refrigerator. Refrigerator temperature should be between 34 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit, according to Epicurean. Stored this way, they should remain fresh for up to one year.
- 3). Freeze hazelnuts below 27 degrees, according to Epicurean, if you want them to last longer--they will last up to two years stored this way.
