DIY Cleaner for a Glass Ceramic Cooktop
- 1). Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar, and screw the cap on tightly.
- 2). Spray the surface of the cooktop with the white vinegar to coat it with an even layer.
- 3). Sprinkle baking soda lightly over the vinegar to coat the cooktop with baking soda. As the baking soda combines with the white vinegar, you should see a bubbling chemical reaction. Allow the baking soda and vinegar to sit on the cooktop for up to 10 minutes to work on tough stains.
- 4). Moisten a sponge with water, and squeeze out the excess water.
- 5). Rub the cooktop with the sponge, working the baking soda and vinegar into the ceramic surface in a circular motion. As you rub, examine the cooktop to ensure that you are removing stains. Continue working until you remove every stain on the cooktop.
- 6). Rinse the sponge with clear water, and use it to wipe the cooktop clean of vinegar and baking soda. Rinse out the sponge, and continue wiping until the cooktop looks clean and shiny.
- 7). Dry the cooktop gently with a paper towel.
