How to Roast a Three Pound Turkey
- 1). Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Season your turkey breast by peeling the skin partially away from the meat and rubbing any seasonings into the pocket between the meat and skin. Rub the skin with oil or fat (such as melted butter or bacon grease) if you wish to make it crisper.
- 2). Put a rack in a roasting pan, then put the seasoned turkey breast on the rack. Place the pan, rack and turkey breast into the oven and bake until a meat thermometer says that the inside of the breast is at least 154 degrees Fahrenheit. This will probably take 75 to 90 minutes.
- 3). Remove the turkey from the oven when it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow the turkey to rest for approximately 20 minutes, then carve and serve it.
