This is a very traditional Mexican dish, it is also made in some places were Spanish cuisine has become increasingly popular.
It is very simple to make and they work perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You just have to pick the ingredients you want to make it with and then enjoy of these creations you made yourself, they can be sweet or salty, depending on what you put inside them.

You will need: Butter (1/2 cup, softened) Cream cheese (1 package or 3 ounce) All purpose flour (1 cup) Fruit preserves (1 cup) Sugar (1/3 cup) Ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon) How to do it: Although this recipe is easy you have to consider some time before you star, because for them to taste better require a day before preparation.
First a day before, mix the butter and cream cheese until they reach a smooth point.
Add the flour and make dough with it.
Shape the dough mix into small round balls and have them wrap in cling wrap, refrigerate them overnight or for as long as you want to, a week at the most.
Once you are ready to bake them take the dough out from the refrigerator and preheat your oven at 375ºF or 190ºC degrees.
Now take the dough and roll it until it reaches a tin point, now put a little spoonful of jam in the center and press the edges together, have them al ready to pt in the ungreased cookie sheet and bake all the empanadas for 20 minutes.
