An important part of your immune system. There are several different kinds of white blood cells: granulocytes (neutrophils,eosinophils, and basophils) and lymphocytes.

Also Known As: WBCs, leukocytes

Examples:

Your complete blood count (CBC) will include counts of your white blood cells. Infections and high stress can cause high counts of WBCs. Chemotherapy can put you at risk for certain types of infections.
