- 1). Draw the shape of the purse on a sheet of paper. A bee purse typically resembles the shape of a bee with a circular top and an almond-shaped bottom.
- 2). Add detail to the shape of the purse to create the design of the front of the pursue. For example, add two circles over the circular top to create eyes. Add stripes to the almond-shaped bottom to create the pattern of a bee.
- 3). Label each portion of fabric with a number or color. For example, label the yellow of the circular head with "Yellow" and the eyes with "Black." Alternate the labels for the strips to create black and yellow fabric.
- 4). Widen the right and left edges of the purse by one to three inches to design the edges of the purse. The wider the edges, the wider the purse. For a purse that more closely resembles a bee, widen the edges by only one inch.
- 5). Draw the strap extending from the top-right edge to the top-left edge of the purse.
