Quick Natural Relief for Eczema

101 39
Everyone wants quick natural relief for eczema since it is a painful itchy type of dermatitis.  It can surface anywhere sometimes even on the face.  The main cause is inflammation from dry skin.

Eczema Solutions

If you have eczema, you want solutions.  You need two types of solutions.  You need short-term topical remedies that address the immediate symptoms and you need a long-term solution to actually get rid of the problem for good.

Doctors will say there is no cure for the condition, only treatments.  But research indicates that natural approaches improve a person's quality of life and reduce their need for prescription medications.  In some cases, the condition is eliminated.  That, to me, is a cure.

Long-term Solutions

These will not provide the quick relief that you may need, but it is important for you to know about them, so that you can start using them.  The sooner you start, the sooner you will see results.

Although dietary changes are still considered to be in the experimental stage, there is some evidence that the condition is aggravated by allergies or sensitivities to specific foods.  Identifying the foods that are most aggravating is the tough part.  Common causes of allergic reactions include soy, eggs, nuts and wheat.

However, the results seen in the studies could simply have to do with increased inflammation throughout the body.  Certain foods contribute to inflammation, while others modulate or reduce it.  The foods most often associated with chronic inflammation include simple carbohydrates such as bread, pasta and white rice.

Foods known to modulate or reduce inflammation include fish and olive oil due to their omega-3 content.  Increasing omega-3 intake through the use of fish oil dietary supplements, while reducing intake of other types of fats, has proven to be beneficial in at least one study.

Other nutrients and specific plant extracts can help to reduce inflammation too.  For example, vitamin D3 has proven to be helpful in several studies.  Moderate exposure to sunlight has sometimes helped, but the benefit may be solely due to increased production of vitamin D triggered by the sun.

I recommend natural supplements because they contain the widest range of anti-inflammatory nutrients and plant extracts.  The brand I use contains vitamin D3 and is more cost effective than buying a number of different herbal remedies.

Sulfur has been used historically and can be taken orally in the form of a dietary supplement or applied topically.  When applied topically, most people don't like the way that it smells.  Another drawback is that creams containing sulfur often contain irritating ingredients, too.

Avoiding sodium laurel sulfate and other irritating ingredients found in soaps and cosmetics has long been recommended for eczema.  Basically, anything that can cause irritation or inflammation should be avoided.

For Quick Relief

While you are making dietary changes and taking nutritional supplements to help cure your eczema, you are going to want some quick relief for the symptoms.  For that, I recommend nourishing creams and lotions that are known to be free of allergens, irritants and toxins.

To get immediate relief from itching, burning and redness on your face or neck, try a Deep Hydrating Mask.  You apply the mask on your face and neck.  It should feel immediately soothing.  Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and you should feel lasting relief from eczema for the rest of the day or night.

Final Notes

While the Deep Hydrating mask will provide quick relief for eczema, it is not a cure.  You must moisturize your skin every day after bathing or showering.  Increasing the skin's moisture content is the key to relieving the problem permanently.
