Scientists Discover Link Between Obesity and Melanin Production

A new discovery that will change the world of skin whitening shows promise in the understanding of the biochemical processes that take part in the production of melanin in the human body.
Researchers at SW+SS laboratories have duplicated and validated the results of a research by George Mason University, where they discovered a link between obesity and melanin production.
The analysis of samples taken from morbidly obese patients undergoing weight loss surgery, showed that substantial quantities of melanin were being produced in the study participants' fat tissue.
It is believed that melanin, being a natural anti-oxidant with anti inflammatory properties, could be used by the body as a defense mechanism against weight related conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, fatty liver disease, polycystic ovary syndrome and some forms of cancer.
Scientists at SW+SS laboratories have been trying to unravel the secrets of the powerful skin whitening ingredient L Glutathione and its potential link to the above finding.
Its anti-oxidant properties could be the secret to its skin whitening effectiveness.
Studies are currently carried to test the hypothesis that l glutathione is being used by the body against the same weight related conditions as melanin, thus reducing the need for the production of melanin in the human body.
This new discovery could also bring to light a new range of hybrid skin whitening product that are a cross between skin whitening and fat burning products.
It is very well possible that this hybrid structure could maximise the effectiveness of the skin whitening formula and lead to the production of new products that provide more significant and permanent results.
