Care & Cleaning of Vera Bradley Purses
- The majority of Vera Bradley purses are 100% cotton. That is the case for the largest collection of purses, the Signature Collection. Avoid dry cleaning these purses. If the bottom of the Vera Bradley purse has a sewn-in section, it is acceptable to wash it as is. If there is a base that can be removed, do so before laundering the purse. Wash the purse in the gentle cycle in a washing machine. Wash it in tepid water and use a mild, fragrance-free detergent. Do not put it in the dryer. Let it air dry.
- Some of the dressier Vera Bradley purses need special care. Most of these purses, such as the "Tippy Tie" is made up of patent material. In addition, the purses have magnetic closures. The patterns and colors of these Vera Bradley purses are less bold, patterned and colorful. If you notice dirt on a patent Vera Bradley purse, use a damp, warm cloth to wipe the spot or stain. Do not use any additional cleaners. Let it dry.
- Vera Bradley offers drawstring shoulder bags and the "Kisslock" clutch in microfiber. This is a form of cotton material. These purses have hidden magnetic compartments and detachable chains. Do not launder or dry clean microfiber cotton Vera Bradley purses. Instead, dampen a cloth with warm to hot water and blot the stain. Apply pressure, but do not rub it aggressively. Let it dry naturally, do not use heat on it.
- While a minority in the Vera Bradley purse line, there are bags and purses made up mostly of nylon fabric. One such purse is the "Barrel Bag". The handles are actually made of patent leather, but the rest of the purse is made of nylon. Inside of this purse are large, zipped pockets. Nylon is another material that just needs to be spot cleaned. Do not wash or dry nylon Vera Bradley purses. Use a damp washrag to clean any stains.
