Florida Hospital Is Teaming Up With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In what has become tremendous news, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that they will be partnering up with the Florida Hospital in an effort to improve the health of local communities in Tampa Bay and beyond. Both organizations solidified this partnership through a public exchange of white coats and jerseys. In accordance with this partnership, the Bucs and Florida Hospital will launch new initiatives designed to help improve healthy habits in the workplace and community.

Growing Community Involvement in Health Events
All in all, Florida Hospital is comprised of 23 different institutions set up in various locations across the state, and now it's the official hospital of the Buccaneers. This partnership is designed to help further community engagement in health events such as the Fitness Challenge and a Day of Wellness.

Addressing Chronic Conditions in Florida
In the Tampa Bay area, about 12 percent of the local population is living with some form of diabetes, which outpaces the statewide average of 10 percent. To make matters worse, 25 percent of the local population could be classified as obese, meaning they an adult body mass index (BMI) of at least 30. These are only a few of the chronic medical conditions that the Florida Hospital and the Buccaneers are committed to addressing in the community.
