    • 1). Buy a softball or find a used one to create your bracelet. A used softball lace adds personality to a bracelet, but a lace from a new ball tends to last longer.

    • 2). Cut along each side of the lace (about 1/4 inch away from the lace) using a sharp knife or razor blade, making sure to push through the leather. It may be helpful to sketch a light line along each side of the lace to help guide you in a straight line.

    • 3). Pull the lace off of the ball. If you encounter some difficulty, re-cut along the area to ensure you pushed through the leather.

    • 4). Pick a spot on the lace to cut across so it stretches out horizontally. Slightly dampen the lace if you need help getting any kinks out.

    • 5). Measure the lace around the wrist of the person who will wear it and trim it with about an extra inch on the ends.

    • 6). Carefully cut away the leather from the lace on each end so you only have the threads exposed. You can choose however much leather you would like to cut away. Some choose to have the leather wrap all the way around while other bracelets appear more as a cuff with long threads and less leather.

    • 7). Tie the lace around the wrist. You can purchase lobster clasps or other bracelet fixtures at your local arts and crafts store to affix to the thread of the lace, which enables you to remove the bracelet with ease and avoid damage to the threads.
