Video: Types of Face Foundation
Video Transcript
Hi, I'm Jhizet Panosian, celebrity makeup artist, and today we're going to be talking about different types of face foundations. So there's basically three different types of skin foundations. You can start out with a powder which gives you a very light coverage, move on to a liquid foundation which gives you a medium to full coverage, and a cream foundation being your heaviest coverage. With Katie's skin today she has relatively good skin, she just has a little bit of redness and I'm going to use a liquid foundation to sort of even out her coverage a little bit. Today I'm going to be using L'Oreal's visible lift liquid foundation. I'm just going to apply a very little amount on the back of my hand. I'm going to use a puffy synthetic foundation brush and you just load up the product on to your brush. A little goes a long way and you always want to start out light and can build up. And usually I start with the center of the forehead and just buff it out in small circular motions. And you want to make sure to get all the different edges around the face to make sure you have even coverage. You want to go down the nose, underneath the eyes, and you can always play with your brushes too you can always use your two fingers, fold the brush down and really get underneath the eye to get the perfect coverage. And just continue with small circular motions, load up more product if you need it. So when applying face foundation it's really important for you to carry it down the neck and across the decollette, because always remember that is an extension of your face. So you want a nice, even skin tone from your face down to your neck. Just do the same thing that you would on your face, just buff out in small little circular motion. So there's a nice even complexion. And remember with liquid foundation as well as creams and powders if you feel like you need more coverage you can always go back, load up your brush, and build. So as you can see, we've really evened out Katie's skin tone and really minimized a lot of the redness in her skin by just using a very simple light liquid foundation. And there you go. Those are the different types of foundations. I'm Jhizet Panosian and thanks for watching.
