How to Fix a Basketball Backboard
- 1). Remove the backboard from the wall or from the pole it hangs on by removing the bolts or screws.
- 2). Lay the backboard on a work desk or a dry piece of ground. Cut around the chip or the crack with the box cutter, removing any damaged areas. Sand the inside of the backboard.
- 3). Fill the gap with epoxy. Sand it down so that it does not jut out from the front of the backboard.
- 4). Turn the backboard over and place duct tape on the back to keep the epoxy secure. This will help give it structural strength.
- 5). Tighten up the nuts where the hoop meets the backboard and reattach it to the pole or wall.
